Black History Month Read/Watchlist With Little to no Context

Hello!  Recently, I've been engaging with many documentaries and books that involve Black history and culture, and I feel that it's imperative that I use this platform that I have to share the things I've watched or read that have changed my worldview. I would like to also emphasize the fact that it doesn't need to be Black History Month for you to educate yourself and others on or appreciate Black history/culture.  Please look up trigger warnings if you do decide to read or watch anything on this list! It's good to educate yourself, and educating yourself on history is usually uncomfortable, but take care of yourself. Self care is an act of resistance! Without further ado, here is my read/watchlist recommendations for Black History Month 2026, with little to no context.  (None of this is sponsored by the way).  Books to Read  1. "N*groes with Guns" by Robert F. Williams  This book will radicalize you so much.  2. "Recitatif" by Toni Morrison  Th...

Crochet Mushroom Top

Hello! Today I will be sharing a pattern for a crochet mushroom top. This took me about a week and a half to do without breaks (I took a lot) and it looks absolutely adorable!

Now before we begin, this post does contain affiliate links that I made using Chirpyest, these specific links are used for the styling ideas portion of this post, but these links are not the particular products that I am wearing in these pictures. Still, they are similar ones from brands that many people buy from. Please go to my disclaimer page and my privacy policy page to learn more.

Materials: Weight 4 yarn in red and white, tapestry needle, and a 5mm hook.

Top:  In red
1: Crochet a chain the length you want your top to be +1. Single crochet into the second chain from your hook and chain 1.
2-50: Repeat row 1 until the top is long enough to wrap around your torso. You can either slip stitch the ends together or make a lace-up closure by making a very long chain and inserting the chain into every 3 stitches in the way that you lace up your shoes.

Sleeves: In red
Put the top on and mark where you want your sleeves to start on the front and back using a stitch marker. Make sure that the sleeves will be an even length apart.
1: Insert your yarn into where you marked the sleeves and chain a chain that is long enough to wrap around your shoulders comfortably, then slip stitch into the stitch marker that it matches with on the other side. Do this again on the other side to make the other sleeve.

Dots: In white using any hook you'd like
Tiny: in a magic circle, sc 8, slip stitch, close circle. Fasten off and use loose ends to attach circles to the top.

Black Swan: A Psychological Analysis

Hello! This is another original work that I did for one of my past classes. Our teacher had given us an assignment of watching a movie and psychologically evaluating one of its characters, I chose the movie “Black Swan”. Please do not copy this work or claim that any of it is yours. I’ve cited all of my references for this essay in the last section. I would also like to say that some of the content in this post may be triggering for some people, there are mentions of sex, suicide, death, eating disorders, and multiple other mental illnesses. I suggest you look up the trigger warnings for this movie to see if you would still like to read this essay. Remember to take care of yourself and try not to put yourself into triggering situations if you can. I hope you enjoy this essay!  Black Swan: A Psychological Analysis Introduction In Darren Aronofonsky’s “Black Swan”, a New York ballerina named Nina Sawyer goes through a series of trials and tribulations related to her mental hea...

Neuroscience & Me

Hello! This is my final project for my Neuroscience class. This is all my own work so please don’t copy it. Some of the links and works cited may not work because some are link that came from the Canvas site for my class.  Neuroscience & Me Willow V.                           My interest in psychology began when I discovered a show in sixth grade that I’m now obsessed with, “Criminal Minds.” At first, I was mostly interested in criminal and forensic psychology, so I started taking psychology classes and doing research to prepare myself for what I thought I was going to be, a behavioral analyst for the FBI. As I started my journey, I discovered that I actually really enjoy doing research and authoring reports, so now my dream career is to be a psychological researcher. I’m honestly interested in all aspects of psychology, but I want to focus on studying under-represented popu...
