Hi guys! Happy blogaversary. It's been a while I know, I haven't posted since February. A LOT has happened in my life since I began this blog exactly 4 years ago. I've also changed a lot as a person. So for this post, I'll be welcoming you all back to the blog, letting you know why I ghosted the blog, and welcoming myself back into posting here. So Where'd You Go? When I started this blog I was a freshman in high school, and I just finished my freshman year of college. And I'm graduating 2 years early next year. That should explain why I haven't been posting as much here, but if it doesn't, I have more. I have been extraordinarily busy with a bunch of stuff inside and outside of school. Volunteering, trying to upkeep my mental and physical health, dealing with the transition of living in a new state for high school, and then living alone in a different section of the same state for college, all while essentially failing at socializing. This past July, I got the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. for the Washington Journalism and Media Conference at George Mason University. Due to the plethora of pictures that I took while there (we had to document our experience to get college credit), I’ll only be writing a little about what happened there. I may do another post detailing my experience, but I’m more excited about sharing the pictures I took.
These are the pictures I got from day 1, we didn’t do much that day. We just played in the game room (called “The Hub”) , took a tour of the college, and had dinner, where we heard the first of MANY speakers.
This is day 2, we toured some national monuments and went to planet word.
I didn’t get many pictures on day 3, but we went to the National Press Club and played a very intense game of Color Group Feud.
I didn’t get any pictures on day 4, but I got a BUNCH on day 5. We toured the National Mall that day and above are my pictures from the African American History Museum. Below are my pictures from the Museum of Natural History.
When we got back to George Mason after the National Mall, we had a full 3 course dinner and a gala, which I didn’t get any pictures of because I was too busy dancing.
Well, that’s all for today! I’ll be posting some more pictures and videos on my Pinterest, @awordfromwillow. All of these pictures aren’t even half of what we did at WJMC, so let me know if you want me to do a more detailed post about my trip. If you liked this post, I’d tell you to subscribe here, but I honestly don’t use that emailing list anymore, so it’d be better for you to follow my Pinterest for more Words from Willow! <3
