Welcome (back) to the Blog: 4 Years Later

Hi guys! Happy blogaversary. It's been a while I know, I haven't posted since February. A LOT has happened in my life since I began this blog exactly 4 years ago. I've also changed a lot as a person. So for this post, I'll be welcoming you all back to the blog, letting you know why I ghosted the blog, and welcoming myself back into posting here.  So Where'd You Go?  When I started this blog I was a freshman in high school, and I just finished my freshman year of college. And I'm graduating 2 years early next year. That should explain why I haven't been posting as much here, but if it doesn't, I have more.  I have been extraordinarily busy with a bunch of stuff inside and outside of school. Volunteering, trying to upkeep my mental and physical health, dealing with the transition of living in a new state for high school, and then living alone in a different section of the same state for college, all while essentially failing at socializing.  Definitely hav...

Washington Journalism and Media Conference: A Photo Collection

This past July, I got the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. for the Washington Journalism and Media Conference at George Mason University. Due to the plethora of pictures that I took while there (we had to document our experience to get college credit), I’ll only be writing a little about what happened there. I may do another post detailing my experience, but I’m more excited about sharing the pictures I took.  These are the pictures I got from day 1, we didn’t do much that day. We just played in the game room (called “The Hub”) , took a tour of the college, and had dinner, where we heard the first of MANY speakers. This is day 2, we toured some national monuments and went to planet word.  I didn’t get many pictures on day 3, but we went to the National Press Club and played a very intense game of Color Group Feud.  I didn’t get any pictures on day 4, but I got a BUNCH on day 5. We toured the National Mall that day and above are my pictures from the African Americ...

New Years Resolution Inspo

Hello! Happy New Year (if you celebrate)!  Today I'll be sharing some New Years' resolution ideas. Maybe you're out of ideas, think you're doing alright (good for you!), or perhaps you're like me and did not think about resolutions at all and now people are asking you about them and you need to come up with something.  1. Doing more of what you love!  This one's pretty obvious, but I think that you can never spend too much time doing the things you love. Everyone needs things that make them happy, whether it's baking, writing, or dancing.  2. Moving more often  When I say "moving" I mean exercising, but not to change how you look. You should work out for health, better joints, and to be strong in my opinion.  3. Reading more  This has been one of my eternal goals since I knew what goals were. But it's even more important now since we live in such a tech-savvy world. We need to disconnect from the wires, and what better way to do that than to st...

My Experience With Covid

Hi hello yes I know this post is a day late. I have a VERY good excuse. Yesterday was my first day back at school after a week and a half of having covid and I came back to an essay and a presentation. The essay's due this Friday too. Thankfully I have extenuating circumstances (covid).  So, why am I doing this post? Honestly, I'm just hoping that somewhere, someone just tested positive for covid or someone that they love did and they're just worried about what's to come. Like I was. I just hope this can provide some sort of comfort for whoever reads this. Remember, this is not medical advice, in fact, it's not any type of advice. This post it just a way for me to talk about my experience with covid.  I tested positive on Wednesday before Thanksgiving, like the day before. Thankfully I was out of school for the rest of the week. At first, I felt super weak. My throat and stomach were hurting and I felt like I was going to pass out. You know when you stand up too fa...

5 of the Best Girly Gifts!

Hello! Today I will be talking about some of the best girly gifts (in my opinion) since Christmas and the time when every 2 days it's someone's birthday is on its way. Side note: why are so many people born in Winter and Fall? It seems like so many more people are born then.  Since a lot of the pictures used in this post aren't mine, but screenshots I took from links, I would like to direct you to my  disclaimer page  so that I don't get copyrighted or sued. The pictures of the products here are not mine, and I will give credit for where I got them from. If I have used one of your products photos and you would like me to take it down, please  contact me .  1.  The Revlon One-Step Hairdyer   Photo credits: Amazon  I personally have not used this, but I've heard great things about it. It seems to be a more affordable alternative for fancy blowout brushes or getting your hair done professionally. I'm not a professional hairstylist, but that see...

My Favorite Body Sprays

Hello hello! I know it's super late but it's still the 5th and I am posting just like I promised! Today I have whipped up a list of some of my favorite body sprays from Bath & Body Works, Bodycology, and Body Fantasies.  #1 Strawberry Poundcake from Bath & Body Works  This could very easily be one of the sweetest body sprays I own. It smells like vanilla, strawberries, and cake. What more could you want?!  #2 Fresh White Musk from Body Fantasies  This is the cheapest body spray I own, and it's the perfect base spray for so many fragrances. It smells so clean and fresh like you just got out of the shower. If you're looking for a clean girl fragrance for cheap, you should totally try this one.  #3 Pink Vanilla Wish from Bodycology  This smells like vanilla and the color pink. There's a bit of florals in there that gives it a lovely feminine touch. I love a good vanilla.  #4 Cotton Candy Clouds from Bath & Body Works  This one smell...

Life Update

Hello! I'm sorry for how long I've been gone. I've been meaning to make this post for a while and I've really been procrastinating on it.  I started school last month and I'm also doing a lot of extracurriculars and it's been a lot. I've also been taking more time for myself, hanging out with my friends more, and watching more tv (lol). I've decided that I'm only going to be posting here once a month. The 5th of every month to be specific. But this post doesn't count so I'll be posting again very soon!  As always I hope you enjoyed reading this post! If you did, please  subscribe  to my emailing list and follow my  Pinterest  so that you can stay updated on my latest posts! Come back next month for more words from Willow!

My *personal* Essay Writing Formula

According to my Freshman year English teacher, there are people out there who are in High School and don't know how to write an essay, so I took the initiative of sharing the essay writing formula that I've used since I first started writing essays. That was in Elementary School, by the way.  Disclaimer: I am not guaranteeing anything with this post. I am simply sharing my personal essay writing formula with the world.  Essay Outline  Title: self-explanatory Intro paragraph  Thesis statement: 1 sentence, the response to the prompt. This is the first supporting statement, a supporting statement is essentially the reason why your thesis statement is right, for every supporting paragraph, you need a new supporting statement. This is the second supporting statement, supporting statements are used as thesis statements or topic sentences for your supporting paragraphs. This is the third supporting statement, all of the supporting statements must be on the topic and ...
